#FreeBSD I’m finding my #iwlwifi #AX210 fails to receive ipv6 RA messages so SLAAC doesn’t work. Anybody else able to try?
IPv4 works fine.
https://community.intel.com/t/intel-ax2xx-wi-fi-6e-and-ipv6-slaac and several other threads for windows and Linux suggest this may be a firmware / hardware issue.
@stsp thanks. What firmware versions are you using on OpenBSD? I will try the iwx driver but I’d like to figure this out. Maybe there’s something wrong with the ubiquity firmware or config, but everything else in the house works with SLAAC.
@dch OpenBSD uses fairly recent firmware (API 77, and 89 on MA devices). But the offloading engine is in hardware, as witnessed by bugs such as this one: https://marc.info/?l=openbsd-cvs&m=177341485313105&w=2
@stsp same here we’re on 89. Maybe I will browse Linux iwlwifi archives too…

@dch No such issue on openbsd. Have you tried iwx? Just a guess, but did you try disabling checksum offloading in iwlwifi? The iwx driver does not use that.
