I noticed Owncast was removed from the Fediverse Wikipedia page. Not surprised, I suppose.

@zital I wish I knew so I could share.
@lislegaard @gabek Yeah, I'm out of the loop, what is happening?
@ChrisWere @lislegaard I don't think anything is happening. There used to be a table of Fediverse software on there with Owncast listed, and it's been removed. Just the ones you'd expect are still there.
@gabek @lislegaard @ChrisWere looks like it happened around 2024-03-09. The table was moved to he ActivityPub page, though Owncast isn't listed there anymore either.
@felcryn @lislegaard @ChrisWere It's weird that it considers Bluesky a part of the Fediverse, but not software that actually is.
@gabek @felcryn @lislegaard @ChrisWere Some things are quicker to do than to discuss. 🙂 There is no Committee of Fediverse Topics on Wikipedia, the articles are edited by people like us. If you think Owncast is missing you can add it citing your sources. If anyone wants to discuss the change they will do it on the Talk page, which is a more productive location to discuss than this corner of the internet.
PS: AT Protocol removed from the Fediverse article so far.
@icaria36 @felcryn @lislegaard @ChrisWere It’s heavily looked down upon to make edits regarding things you’re directly involved in. If people felt strongly about removing it, but not strong enough to add it, then that’s just the way it is. Not everything is important or relevant enough to be mentioned on Wikipedia, and it seems Owncast falls into that. And that’s ok.
@gabek @lislegaard Owncast is one of the best bits of fedi software ever made. I deeply disapprove of this decision.
@gabek
wow, what is happening. it literally is a part of fedi.
