@davidgerard
I wouldn't be so sure about distros refusing Epic's rootkit.
See systemd and slop acceptance.
Only with Epic I'll be sure that money changed hands \s
@davidgerard Microsoft chose the perfect time to kill ID software and the Idtech engine, didn't they? Nothing could go wrong with most of the gaming industry becoming reliant on a slopified Unreal or Unity, nothing at all.
Watch it spiral double time!
What’s that old line from the mythical man month?
Software project lead: this project will take X weeks
Manager: how fast will it be completed if we put twice as many people on it?
Software project lead: 10 * X weeks
@GhostOnTheHalfShell @davidgerard and pro tips:
Offer three copies of 'The mythical man month' to your manager so they can read it three times faster.
@thinkb4coding @GhostOnTheHalfShell @davidgerard And to really drive the point home, make him actually read from the 3 books. Let's say a paragraph from each, round robin.

@davidgerard it's hard to overstate how load-bearing epic is for any company that builds their games with unreal engine, so for a decent % of the industry this has been extremely concerning to see. probably deeper more structural commitment than even, say, MS with Copilot.
