I hadn't realized how much #Misskey usage seems to have dropped... When I joined fedi in 2022 it was easily the second most popular microblogging platform after Mastodon. Now according to the Fediverse Observer it has less than 2000 monthly active users (from over 14000 in early 2023)... Wow. What happened there? Of course, stats may not be completely accurate and not tell the whole story, idk.

@panos I would say “not be completely accurate” is an understatement. Misskey doesn't publish active user numbers on NodeInfo, so any estimate you see is basically a blind guess.
