#PDX / #Portland, what are we doing for Halloween proper? I got a party to go to the night before - but my ideal is to be out of the house so I don't have to hand out candy (and jump every time the doorbell rings.)
I did already check instagram to see what all the goth cover bands are up to, and only one has a show that night - and they're the opener for someone I don't care about.
@ansate Something that Sage and I did one year was to spend the evening of Halloween wandering around our neighborhood and knocking on neighbors' doors, telling them we just wanted to meet our neighbors, and chatting a bit. People seemed to like it since they were prepared for people knocking on their doors anyway.
@jamey that's legitimately a really good idea, but oooooo it makes me feel shy and awkward to imagine trying.
and also like i would social overload after like 1 house.
the practicality of "knock on doors on a night when people expect to have doors knocked on" cannot be beat tho!

I keep waffling on Halloween.
I tried to plan for sitting outside and handing out stuff, but the forecast is for cold and wet and I couldn't muster up enough excitement to also go forth and buy stuff.
There's some dance party options, but all the ones I'm finding today start at 8. (I know I saw an earlier one on insta!)
