I swear these days I try like mad to avoid post Dem win election coverage bc these days a raft of progressives win... and the DNC will just trout out the fucking Hillary era Dems to claim the wins as a mandate for the most centrist voices in the party.
This is about the be the lease serious US election thread.
But combing through the results there's a lot of confirmed and shifts in US political power...
But like... by turn out... this shit wasn't a "Blue wave"... BLACK voters turned out in high numbers and voted consistently af for PROGRESSIVES when available and democrats in droves.
One of the clearest signals right now is a re-asserertion of the importance of the Black vote in America.
Now go tell that to MAGA so they croak on the news
Georgia is notable for lifting the number of Black voters who had skipped the previous election but turned out this year.
Meanwhile more white GA voters than usual simply didn't vote at all.

Meanwhile Hispanics had an outlier year many hope will stick. HIGH voter turnour and some of the least support for conservatives we've seen in KEY races.
However.... ummm its SHOCKING to ppl like me to see OVER 40% of Latino men are STILL voting for conservatives.
Fair bit of online debate this week about why and how.
Imo the big question is will the Latino step left this cycle stick when Trump and ICE aren't in the headlines?
https://www.as-coa.org/articles/how-latinos-voted-2026-us-midterm-elections
Sadly we have a lot of realtime statistical evidence for one of the US' oldest political pattern remaining fully at play... and clearly 40% of Latino men and nearly a 3rd of Latino women are hoping for the pattern to hold as their solution to rising fascism.
Hispanic conservatives aside... Texas still went to the left in a much larger way due to the hispanics who switched sides and the massive Black voter base turnout.
And I gotta say a Texas speaker of the house that looks and sounds like my grandma is a pretty good outcome.
I hope the old lady gives them chuds hell just by existing!
A really interesting win is Scott Colom in Mississippi who ended up winning his race.
Earlier this week he was ALREADY complaining about DNC leadership choices.
He grew up with a family of lawyers and polticians and I think he's got some of the smartest approaches to widening the democrats big tent so it STICKs in the South.
I've been reviewing Scott Colom's ad campaign today and I'm VERY impressed with his range. He really nails both high end high production ads
@nullagent They always do that. The role of centrist "leftists" is to prevent a mass movement. The Clintons are good at it, which is why they have been rewarded with wealth. See also Tony Blair in the UK and Felipe Gonzalez in Spain
A great clip from Marc Lamont Hill on the latest election news.
