Look, I am with the majority of my friends in wanting a change in leadership, but one commenter had some good points:
When Schumer was Majority Leader in Biden's first term, he shepherded a ton of consequential legislation through a Senate with only 50 Democrats, two of whom were Manchin and Sinema.
Like Pelosi, Schumer isn't a great public speaker, and he's not very charismatic. But he knows how to herd cats, which is the job of the Majority Leader.
It's a thankless job and one that basically means you have to make unpopular compromises and deal with inconvenient political realities.
It's also a very poor springboard for the presidency, which is why despite all the clamoring for a replacement, nobody else seems to want it.https://www.nytimes.com/2026/11/06/podcasts/the-daily/chuck-schumer-senate-democrats.html
@farbel No. We need to reject the notion that the job of leadership is just herding cats, not leading. This is how we got into this mess.
