Is it just me or does the Loops Android app just not work for posting videos?

So here's the thing.
As a user who posts things on the Fediverse, I would never use Loops or Pixelfed because they want to talk to a specific type of server and have an account there and not post to my existing Mastodon server and account.
If they were UI frontends that could connect to my existing Mastodon instance and post things on my account there, that would be neat.
But from what I can tell they're not, they have their own servers?
Feels useless.
@brooke Don't get me started on my "ActivityPub's client-to-server protocol being symmetric to its server-to-server protocol was an important part of its design and that it didn't take off really limited the fediverse" rant again
@cwebber @brooke So say we all.
But we're working on fixing that! Lots of interesting stuff happening with the #ActivityPubAPI.
I see no evidence of the caption editor mentioned on the features list, but if I push the gear icon on the recording screen i get a popup saying that "sound preferences are coming soon"
Definitely seems to be a "work in progress" and not a functional system at this point. :)
