having QFN build me a whole livecoding IDE for my program semantics overnight. i vaguely specified C++, SDL_gpu + dear imgui, "a mix of vscode, blender and godot", "distraction free". i wonder what horrors will await me.

@lritter When trying stuff out I've been having it running on the side and monitoring it fairly frequently, and in that situation I'd rather have it ask things than go on a 2h search for something I could have just told it.
@SonnyBonds it often comes down to pair programming, esp in the beginning when you don't know your own requirements and nothing is documented.
@lritter Yeah exactly. It's probably possible to lead with those expectations in the beginning of the session, but it seems like their default training is to be as hands off as possible.
to make the editor it decided it needed a few new table types from norbert (the autocoded nudl clone); this could have been implemented in the language, but we don't have enough C ABI support for that yet - so the only avenue was to do it with new table types, which complicates the implementation.
so here you can see, lack of an architectural decision creates bloat at a level that should have stayed lean and minimal. they can't make decisions for you, just follow what you have laid out.
