Started from the bottom, now we're here
@liaizon that is an interesting idea, I like the idea of a public audit log where the community replaces MAU or other stats (with moderator approval). I will add this to my todo list.
We do have detection that automatically blocks servers that report a delta greater than a threshold, but this was under that.
@dansup here is another one: https://fedidb.com/servers/zerocat.dev this server only has 5 (public) posts this month. and looking at the states I would say almost all that data is wrong. I mean there (could be) a lot of private communication but I highly doubt it.
@dansup this one is a relay: https://fedidb.com/software/activity-relay
this metric is totally unrelated to be mixed with other understandings of users
@dansup isn't pixelfed among the oldest meaning it didn't start from the bottom?
@hiphopheaven nope, it was created in 2018, there were a dozen fediverse projects at that point.
@dansup wait does that mean that lemmy has less users than peertube
HOW, HOW?
@dansup love ActivityBot skewing the chart there :)
@Floppy I've debated delisting it, but I should get some consensus from the community first.
@dansup dan can we add some sort of flagging ability to server listings on fedidb. I guess I could just edit the /wiki page of ones that are obviously wrong but like like https://fedidb.com/servers/api.dopp.eu.org
these numbers should not be counted but also it would be nice to preserve the ability to see they are presenting false numbers to begin with.
