@mathew there's a great podcast interview with Tony James talking about the process

@davidgerard I remember seeing Divine’s "You Think You're A Man" on TV, that made a hell of an impression. SAW were a lot less mainstream than people tend to remember.
@mathew they did in fact own the UK charts '88-'89, though '84 they were still working their way up
@davidgerard
Well you should be so lucky.
Lucky, lucky, lucky.
@AlisonW lucky in SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECHHHHHHHHH
@davidgerard ❤️ Metal Machine Music

@davidgerard Woah. I'm not a Rou Reed fan, but this is great.
One of my favourite Dir Krupps albums is somewhat similar, and not many people have heard if. I think anyone who likes the one you shared will like this: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mIFLb0JOmDI1KE0H7chPPXoCfjtcY9Lng
@davidgerard It’s so true that some of my difficult listening as a kid is now pretty tame.
@sfoskett "cambridge 1969" tends to still get 'em
reminder that yoko ono is good actually
@davidgerard On the other hand, Diamanda Galás is still mostly impossible to enjoy.
@davidgerard Happy to say I haven’t been in the mood to listen to Metal Machine Music in a long time. Same goes for The Downward Spiral.
I unironically love the Sigue Sigue Sputnik Stock Aitken Waterman track.
