@marmarta there is a piece somewhere that I read once and ever since was not able to find again that described the societal model implied/promoted by cryptocurrencies as "highways in middle ages" – a "zero trust" situation where merchants needed to hire muscle when traveling between cities for basic business because of highwaymen and robbers that could jump them at any moment.
Anti-social is 100% correct.
1. "main function" does not mean "sole function"
2. it's anybody's guess if that money actually reached Ukraine, or if it ended being swept up in this heist as well

@rysiek I have like a half-formed thesis somewhere in my brain about how cryptocurrencies are fundamentally anti-social, in that they are an expression of a view of society that is predatory and oppressive. And "somehow", they end up being used mostly for predation and oppression.
