oh dammit. finished the late digital chores while fighting off dozing, was literally about to head for the bed when my stupid screaming insulin pump alarm went off ... because the battery ran right down without any WARNING alarms going off in the last 12-24 hours.
Now stuck sitting here wired to the charger, because I will wake up other ppl here if I bumble up to bed then try to plug it in. Because there are exactly three stupid useless loud screeching beeps I cannot configure ...
Useless screeching noise #1: YOUR BLOOD SUGAR IS GONNA GO VERY LOW. This has not yet happened in a way that the pump has alerted me ahead of time - I am very sensitive to my BG level and by the time this alarm that cannot be silenced goes off, I was already well aware I was going low and have ingested an inappropriate amount of glucose in remedy. The alarm is 15-20 minutes behind my own awareness, which still wakes me up from a sound sleep. Then the alarm wakes up everyone else.
