What is your dream job(s)?
It can be a real job that currently exists or one that doesn't yet exist but you wish it existed. You can want more than one dream job.
This might sound weird, but I'd also like it if my coding job involved an hour of carrying heavy objects every day. It would keep me fit, and I find that manual labour clears my head and lets me concentrate.
90% data engineer / 10% building site labourer. The dream work.
@PhoenixSerenity
Book reader. Not reviewer. Just a reader. Pay me to read books. I’m already doing it for free. Why not get paid?
@qurlyjoe @PhoenixSerenity Same but for movies. I would travel the world going to festivals and seeing the Long Tail of movies which never make it to digital release.
Just gonna leave this here…
@PhoenixSerenity any remote job with a co-op not using corporate software or mired in ethical concerns, male *dancer*, luxury carpenter, couch tester, or some combination of the above maybe
@PhoenixSerenity I have applied for my dream job but it’s a long shot so I will be very lucky to get an interview. It’s as a qualitative researcher using arts-based data collection methods.
@PhoenixSerenity Dog care, maybe? But since it's a dream job, I'd want a world where no dogs ever get hurt, get sick, or turn into stardust. 🐶✨
Professional dilettante.
Wood and soft stone carving, writing short fiction, building weird music with field recordings and drones, small event/communal cook, simple chemical extractions and synthesis.
I like my current work, though; I just wish that the job was structured very differently.
@PhoenixSerenity my dream job would be comfortable retirement.
I'm tired of the dream being a job.
my standard answer to "what would you like to be when you grow up" was always "retired".
these days, i want to be retired without having to "grow up".
@mousey @PhoenixSerenity this! When i was 6 years old, asked what i want to be when i am grown up, i answered „a grandpa, sitting all day in a rocking chair reading!“ i never changed that dream. But mayba, you know, i don’t actually need the grandkids or stuff like that…
@codingGarden @mousey @PhoenixSerenity haha same, I said "hermit" ya know, the one dispensing wisdom from a cave.
@PhoenixSerenity
Managing Barista and Janitor of a virtual bookshop-cafe.
Professional Yarn Nerd and maker of woolly, fluffy things.
Sustainability Data Analyst, working remote from my cabin with really good satellite internet and a small unkindness of not truly unkind ravens who talk and bring me odd things they find.
@johannab That last dream job sounds super rad.
I'd be a great anxious chicken counselor.
@PhoenixSerenity "Oops, sorry, can't help this one. Chuck it in the pot!"
@gooba42 I would probably adopt as a pet instead. It can live under my deck.
@PhoenixSerenity Also good but I'm still hungry...
@gooba42 This ain't a restaurant.
@PhoenixSerenity Fair. Breakfast was just on my mind, I probably should go upstairs and fix that before suggesting anymore chicken murders.
@gooba42 Please go eat 🤣
@PhoenixSerenity Are you the anxious one or is the chicken?
@PhoenixSerenity I guess it would be counterproductive for a counselor of chickens to be more anxious than her patients.
@StarkRG I would have to fire myself, if that were the case.
@PhoenixSerenity I’m deliberately not checking out the context of this toot because it’s perfect on its own.
@purplepadma @a @PhoenixSerenity that was great, thank you. I reposted it so people reading their timelines get extremely confused
@PhoenixSerenity In my dreams jobs do not exist
@PhoenixSerenity I would want Winston Wolf's gig (from the Tarantino classic, Pulp Fiction): I'd like to solve problems.
@PhoenixSerenity Beachcomber, fire lookout
@PhoenixSerenity
Honestly I really like my work but I dislike my job. My dream would be to keep doing the same work but without the job parts of it.
