A lot of sighted programmers are saying gen AI is useless and that it doesn't improve productivity, that anything it does could have been done more easily and in less time without it.
Let's assume that is true.
Then, and given the recent solutions to outstanding accessibility issues achieved through gen AI, I'm afraid my conclusion has to be the vast majority of projects and sighted coders give absolutely no fucks about accessibility, because apparently, and subject to the claim being true, this was easy to fix all along.
@modulux I go with: It was easy to fix all along.
Individual devs might care to get this right, but our institutions don't.
And in contracting I know that our clients certainly don't! They'll bikeshed all day long about the visual presentation, but its a good day when they're treating accessibility as a box to tick.
