Currently being laughed at because I have a particular pair of shoes I wear to take the rubbish out on bin day.

@essjax Okay, in that case I'd go "Yes, but kindly". :-)
In fairness I did for ages have a pair of shoes that I only wore for brief chores outside as long as the ground wasn't wet. (They were easy to step into, and I really liked them, but I'd worn the sole so thin that if it was wet the water squeezed up inside by some kind of capillary and/or pumping action.)
Eventually I did toss them and now wear my gummies for all the outside chores.
@essjax To answer this I need to clarify: do you mean that you *only* wear this pair of shoes to take the rubbish out on bin day, or that you always wear them to take the rubbish out on bin day but also wear them on certain other occasions?
