Whenever someone claims we "need" AI, always remember 2023. Did we do any worse then than today? Honestly?
The supposed "necessity" of "AI" for "productivity" or anything else is so plainly a myth.
We're now three or four years into this supposed "great future" where "AI will solve our problems" and no-one can demonstrate an overall increase in anything that translates into better living conditions.
Meanwhile, the machine cult is making very real resource problems a lot worse.
Superficial busywork can now be slopped. So what. This just means we get to do more of it.
Other work can now also be slopped. Does the resulting slopworld feel productive? Does it feel like progress?
Whole fields are threatened, with education being undermined by those who want to replace all knowledge work, expertise, creativity and really everything that matters with plastic replicas.
What a great future!
