Mastodon 5 is out and I don’t even know if I’m running it yet because @mastohost handles upgrades so nicely I don’t have to worry, and @ivory is such a great client that I won’t even notice the UI unless I log in to do admin stuff.
But I hear it is much improved which is super nice for new users or anyone who doesn’t want a third party app so I will consciously go and use it from the web in the next few weeks.
@g Mastodon v5.0.0 alpha is out, but that is a test release. It will only be upgraded on Masto.host when it reaches stable. This can take a while. Only when the Mastodon dev team decides that it has fixed any problems with this new release.
