@kbal @alisynthesis LOL, the dx7? really? (I personally think kit's not that hard but still not that easy, a lot of people don't want still to program their synths, they buy them for presets and tweak a bitβ¦Β the dx7 is not an easy one)
@kbal @alisynthesis my second synth was a dx7mkII which I got after I spent months exploring FM7 back inβ¦Β 2004? Not a beginner friendly synth still. It came with a manual explaining "why the dx7 is not that hard to program" which is in itself is a joke, why did they need to explain it if it's THAT simple :)
Speaking of programming, my experience was from the era when lots of people believed that C was a great choice of first computer programming language to teach beginners. You know, because it's so easy to understand assuming you know all about memory address layouts and so on.
@kbal @alisynthesis yeah sorry different type of programming and yes, C is very simpleβ¦Β if you understand pointers π (I happen to dabble a bit in computer programming and synth "programming")
I will take your word for it as I still don't know much about synths β but I meant that for people who do want to get into dealing with waveforms and envelopes and such it seemed like a beginner-friendly way to do it, with relatively few and simple controls.
