I need to replace my web browser and I need to replace my email provider and I need to replace my Mastodon web frontend and I *want* to start auditioning replacements for my operating system, and instead of going to all of these things I think I'm going to *suddenly stops and engages in 30 seconds of hacking coughs, it's not clear she can breathe* go to the doctor maybe
Note: This is just me being whiny, it's not really so bad, because the last time I went to the doctor they gave me an inhaler and were like "use this if the coughing gets worse" and then the coughing did get worse and I started using the inhaler and it helped! It actually helped. I am not getting coughing fits that prevent breathing anymore. Only coughing fits that are enormously painful and cause me to see bright lights around the edges of my vision, like landing lights in a spaceship airlock
@mcc GO TO THE DOCTOR! YOU’RE IN CANADA!!!
@grumpybozo I am literally on the Canadian public transit going to the doctor right now. I am typing this on my phone on a streetcar.
@grumpybozo the thing about Canada is you can see a doctor but that does not mean you can see a doctor the same day
@mcc Do you go to a pulmonologist? My mom coughed for like 15 years and my dad did nothing but laugh about it. Once he died and we started with a pulmonologist who prescribed drugs that helped, she stopped coughing almost entirely.
@mcc I had very tough yearly episodes: at first it was on spring, antihistamines solved them for a couple of years. Then those medications didn’t work anymore: it became asthma. I have an inhaler that I have to take twice per day and one for emergencies.
I realized that if I mask during spring, the problem attenuates a lot. Contamination and pollen really do a number on me. It wasn’t this way before.
It's fine!
Anyway I don't know exactly what virus it was I caught four weeks ago but whatever it is I suggest not getting it.
@mcc Have you seen a pneumologist about this?
With stuff like asthma, the emergency puffer is really just that, a tool for emergencies, but there are additional treatment methods like cortisol that can really improve quality of life a lot.
@mcc i think i might've already :c
@mcc mend well soon, I hope
@mcc i have a similar list which ends in "i think im going to replace my career"
@mcc halfway expecting an announcement at some point that oxygen is now vibecoded
