These are literally the four closest pubs to the TPAC hotel. If you think there's a better place to go, add a comment! This is my first time in Dublin and I don't know anything.
@evan I unfortunately don’t live in Dublin anymore, but can highly recommend the Hairy Lemon as a quality pub. The family that runs it are all great people IMO.
@evan this might sound weird, but the pubs and restaraunts in Dublin can get really loud with the ambient music, like nightclub level volume even during the day. So if you can find a place that you can have a conversation in normal speaking volume that might be best.

@evan I've passed the wellington a few times but haven't been inside, it does seem to be winning the poll. The waterloo has an upstairs function area that could be booked (not exchanging money, but ringing ahead and ask them to set the area aside for you). Searson's is mad busy at the best of times so you'll have better luck booking the Wellington or the Waterloo IMHO
