Title: NodeBB 4.16.2 — Forum displays HTML code instead of the actual design

NodeBB 4.16.2 — Raw HTML displayed instead of the forum design with nodebb-theme-wtf

Hello NodeBB Support Team,

I'm running NodeBB 4.16.2 on Windows with Node.js 24. My forum is running locally at http://localhost:4567.

I'm experiencing a serious rendering problem with my forum. Large parts of the page display raw HTML and CSS code as plain text instead of being rendered as a normal website. The layout is broken, and the forum is almost impossible to use.

My active theme is @aidc/nodebb-theme-wtf.

I suspect the problem may be related to this theme, its templates, or a plugin conflict.

I have already run nodebb build, but the issue remains.

I would appreciate help with the following:

  1. Identifying why HTML and CSS code is being displayed as text.
  2. Fixing the theme rendering problem while preserving my existing forum data and settings.
  3. Checking whether @aidc/nodebb-theme-wtf is compatible with NodeBB 4.16.2.
  4. Changing the forum's branding and interface text to English, including the forum title, logo text, menus, categories, and other visible labels.

I have attached a screenshot showing the problem.

Could you please advise me on how to fix this issue?

Thank you for your help!
