It's a warm Sunday morning, I'm supposed to be doing something more urgent but I'm totally stuck in a dilemma:
FreeBSD or SmartOS for that new setup?

@FrankauLux the point is: they need to use some Linux only software (I know, I know) and I've tested it on an LX zone and it works. The Linuxulator seems to show some problems with it, so I'd need to use a small bhyve VM. That's not a big issue, but I prefer to avoid the overhead of virtualisation if not needed.

That's my only "problem" with *BSD compared to Linux: hardware support.
Less often a software problem.
Found out many times the package *does* exist, but for reason the name is (slightly) different !!!
@stefano I am not expert but if smartos is top platform for virtualization I would choose smartos as main platform and lx zone for freebsd, it is something what I d like to try in future in my mind
