Thanks to everyone. For people who decided the question was about something ridiculous: I hope you had fun! Many clever replies.
For me, I can do one in each hand, and I can usually load up 3 or 4 in the crook of one arm. Sometimes I get another one under the other arm. I am going to say 5 to 8. I often think I can do more, but I really can't.

How long is a piece of string?
@gwhilts about 1cm to about 1m.
Smaller than 1cm, it stops being string shaped. I'd call it a bit of cloth or a piece of jute.
Longer than 1m, it seems like a complete object, not a piece of something. It's a string, not a piece of string.

I'm one at a time. Although, my wife is from Thailand and for her we need to invent a new version of maths to find her load limit.

@evan I carry things in my work, so this question is familiar to me. I'm not counting things stacked on top of each other, e.g. six containers that I can carry in one hand becomes "one thing". I often have 2-3 things in each hand, e.g. if some of them are lightweight and I can slip my pinky into some hole. I can have things tucked under my armpit, so that's two more. One thing on my back if there's a sling or I have a bag. Last thing I carry in a big embrace. I would be burdened, but that's 10.
@evan I wear a few things that hold a few things, and I carry a few things that hold many more things and I ride on a thing that can hold a lot of things, but I can only hold a few things.
Probably thousands of things, if I'm carrying a bag of, IDK, beans.
This poll's very vague (probably on purpose, I know), so I'll just vote for what I usually carry, which is way above 9.

@violenteastcoastcity my mom raised a guy who overloads himself and drops and breaks objects worth hundreds of dollars because he doesn't want to do the same 30-second walk twice.
I switched to carrying a personal bag a couple months ago and my life is 1000% better. Sunglasses, a book, headphones. All of it available on demand.
@evan I usually carry my backpack, a small purse and a totebag with paperwork. So 3 to 4.
