@pixelfed the app looks really nice, and smooth to use.
Some quirks tho, and this is probably due to the "Native" part of React Native but the Material You style navbar kind of doesn't fit the app (opinion, subjective), especially if my system is themed, say, Green.
Related, and actual bug, if I switch the app to dark more but my system is in light mode, or vice versa, the app uses the system theme.
@pixelfed Is there a changelog or anything summarizing the difference, anything you want extra eyes on for testing, etc?
@pixelfed I wanted to raise these:
1. If I open an image and press the back button it closes the app.
2. If I'm doom scrolling and I'm all the way down, if I press on the home button in the bottom bar, it should take us to the top. Currently it does nothing
@abhiyantrik Both issues have been fixed in the latest release!
@pixelfed I did test this. While the home button taking to top is working fine, it would be intuitive if the fire tab also had the same behaviour. Thank you for this. Much appreciated.
@abhiyantrik Working on a fix for both, will be included in the next release shipping in the next hour or two!
@pixelfed Wow, the new Pixelfed app (v2.0) is incredibly fast now. 🚀 Everything feels smooth.
The improvements — including on the backend — are clearly noticeable. Great job!
I wish there were a landscape mode for the feed with a two-column (smartphone) or multi-column (tablet) layout. But maybe that’ll come at some point. 😉
@HalleAndert Thank you for the amazing feedback!
A landscape mode sounds interesting, we will add that to our todo list!
@pixelfed It's my pleasure. 😀
Great to hear that landscape mode is on the to-do list. I'm looking forward to more improvements. 🚀
@pixelfed Works well on my device👌🏼
@daniebeler Awesome, that means a lot from you ❤️
@celinho @daniebeler Brave strikes again. Try setting your default browser to the system browser, then log in and it will work.
@pixelfed looks great. Install didn't even require a 24 hour cooldown period.
@skribe Yes, most likely because its signed with our Play Store key, and we verified our account months ago!
@pixelfed despite being in Singapore, I haven't encountered anymore issues than I previous had before 1st Oct. Even the Wafrn app, which my phone believes to be the spawn of Santa (yes, that's spelt correctly), updated fine. I'm coooornnnfused. Although lulled into a false sense of security is much more likely.
