A short thread for all things #TheIndieBeat

That’s The Indie Beat Television or #TIBtv at https://tv.theindiebeat.fm

And of course The Indie Beat Radio or #TIBr at https://theindiebeat.fm

#TIBr radio launched Jan 2025 and #TIBtv launched Dec 28 2025

All hosted by @mizkirsten

Because I had made the Radio Free Fedi #Roku app and was sad when RFF shut down in Dec 2024, I contacted Kirsten and asked if it would be OK for me to make an app for #TIBr and she said, yes! I was back in business listening to music on my entertainment center from my couch in the living room.

To install the app, search “Indie Beat” on the device or go here and install it on your account on the web:

Other free roku apps by Lime Bar here:

But of course you can listen in almost all #internetRadio apps, big incomplete list here:

And a few other ways

https://theindiebeat.fm/resources/

And you can follow along on the fediverse, here is a list of fedi handles to follow:

• @indiebeat (site)
• @TIBtv (tv)
• @streamer (live)

If you want to see tracks that just played on the radio or TV you can see those here:

• @tibrnowplayingbot (radio)
• @tibtvnowplayingbot (tv)

And of course you can find everything on the web as well:

• The music video channel:

• The radio stations and info:

• The live owncast for live events:

If you are the sort that likes to scrobble your music listening habits, we have #webscrobbler support.

#PanoScrobbler works as well on Android. More on that:

TIBtv Launch

On launch day, Dec 28th, we planned three events starting at 12:00 UTC and spaced 8 hours apart. We expected maybe 30 viewers and chat to stay open for 1hr each time.

Instead, we had over a hundred viewers repeatedly through the day who stayed for hours and hours.

If you missed the launch video, run straight over to watch it! Made by @RobertaFidora you may recognize it as an homage to something or other:

If you want to submit original #animation, #musicVideos, station identifications (audio or video), interstitial experimental shorts (eye candy), indie promos, etc. you can at

Our 500th Video on Mar 27th

@axwax submitted our 500th music video and during our Fresh Friday today we celebrated by having an AxWax takeover!

First we watched the new video for “Schrödinger’s Bonk” and then… something weird happened. A hacker group from Chicago seemed to have taken over the channel and played a non-stop stream of AxWaxTrax!

It was fun and bonky! Hopefully nobody got too scared or offended by the spanking!

Watch it here: https://v.basspistol.org/w/hbBscx7GbPP
