I'ma escape my parents to somewhere in-or-around Chicago in October. I'm a zoomer "artist", currently-closeted trans woman, who's only firm resume credential for getting hired is working at a retirement place cafe for roughly 1.75 years.
I'm doing a lot for the first time to make this happen. Abstract online research about a place I've never been's starting to give me psychosis. I'm making this public for the first time cuz I'd like to know as many people and resources and esoteric whatnot as I can. Seated Sat Sitting at the gate to the plane to Chicago. Some little birds are loose in the stretch of pipes and beams on the way here, and one of the underpaid immigrant employees at one of those overpriced airport places is wistfully watching them flit about and chirp. Every single conversation I've had about the city I'm told to bring a coat yet I still forgot to bring my coat. I intend to turn adversity into opportunity and buy a woman coat :>
